Garnier Self Heating Sauna Mask Review

Post by Dazzler on Tue Oct 12, 2010 8:24 pm

I recently have been in a quest to find an alternative for Loreal Pure Zone skin care products as they are not faced out. I did a little research and found some good reviews on Garnier Daily Moisturizer or Oily skin so went out hunting. To my disappointment I didn't find available Garnier products for oily skin except for their Self-Heating sauna Mask. As it says on the package, the formula generates a self-heating action on contact with the skin. Specially developed with clay and zinc. It works to remove impurities and excess sebum to unclog pores and refine skin texture. Your skin feels deeply cleansed and looks shine free. It feels purified for up to 7 days.

Well my review on this is it isn't bad. It retails at P49 for a pack that is good for 2 uses (6ml each). You are only supposed to use this twice a week so P49 for a week isn't so bad at all as long as it works, right? I just didn't like that it doesn't give much instructions on the pack so I had to do a little research for best application. You have to apply this mask on a perfectly cleansed face. Pat the skin dry and apply the mask on the face. Now don't freak out when it heats up because that's the way it should work. It will not burn your skin even though it feels that it is. The heating effect on your skin will open your pores and clean it. According to the instructions you leave it off for 3 minutes, or you can go longer for another 2 minutes to let the mask suck up all your impurities (like I did). After 5 minutes rinse it well with luke warm water to make sure that you remove everything to the pores. Follow it with with a cool water to seal the pores. You will see that your pores are instantly reduced, your skin more flushed, softer, and healthier. Do not forget to moisturize afterwards.

    PROS:
    • Makes the skin healthier
    • Whiteheads are minimized
    • Pores are instantly reduced
    • Face looks more flushed
    • Skin is a lot softer
    • Skin is deep cleansed and fresh
    • Very affordable

    CONS:
    • The smell is not strong but a little unpleasant
    • I think it was a little hot after the application
    • Not enough instructions as it only says to apply the 6ml mask on the T-ZONE

    My verdict:
4.5 STARS for not giving enough instructions

Below is a sample image. Sorry for the lighting Very Happy

I am happy to say that no bumps and no breakouts yet after 3 days. I will use the other half of the mask tomorrow and I am pretty sure my skin is going to do great. Until now my skin still feels so clean and it's flushed. I haven't noticed my skin as rosy as this which is a good thing. My pores as visibly reduced and I love it!

Anytime photoescape! I'm glad that I can help. It really is good I bought a few more packs Very Happy. For precaution though, also do a skin test probably on your lower chin just to see if you can tolerate the heat and if the skin reacts or not.

Thanks for the review! I will try to look for one and try it out too!

I def feel the same way regarding products that doesn't have much instructions and you're always wondering if you did right or not...the bad part is if you're still thinking about it for a long time hehe

Haha yeah I have that sometimes. I get uncomfortable and restless and oftentimes worry what will happen to my skin. I watch out for any bumps after a few hours or rashes the following day Very Happy
